Oh my. My good friend Daniel invited me to the Sydney Cricket Ground to watch a game of cricket. My first initial thoughts weren't all too good. I loved cricket as a kid, but as I grew older, I begun disliking it due to it's slow pace, and "dagginess". Cricket is kinda like "watching the grass grow" slow.
So I was looking forward to this cricket game. It was Australia vs New Zealand. Hopefully this cricket game would rekindle my young love of Cricket. I wanted to give Cricket a chance.
NOT a chance. Today, it rained like shiba. I spent a while sitting there, may I add, IN THE RAIN. The teams played up to 6 overs, then it started to rain to a substantial level. They brought the players in. All the fans, including myself, are left there waiting for more instructions. We are told nothing.
Not happy at the weather, and the attitude to the fans, I went to do some research. It turns out if the game is canceled before 10 overs, a full refund is issued. If 10-25 overs are played, a half refund is made. When over 25 overs, they won't issue a refund.
That's like........ like................... paying full price for a bag of biscuits, being guaranteed 1/4, and the other 3/4 is not guaranteed ~_~
Anyways, enough of this slander.
I went on to ask a security guard when they would announce when the game would be officially canceled. He said 7:30. The time was 5:30. I had been there since 4:00. Forget about it.
I left.
Did I get a full refund. I don't know. I'll have to see.
Thanks so much for inviting me to the Sydney Cricket Ground. I really wanted to watch my first ever official cricket game live. But for next time, thanks, but no thanks. I don't think I would like to gamble my time like that again. All the best for us though, my attitude might change in a few weeks, but right now, no suredy bob.
P.S: I'll be posting up some pics up soon.
