HPT

SUPER!!!!! I got my Green Ps =D

I was confident going into the test, as like any other test, but my heart started racing soon after. They asked me the two practice questions, which were both Right Turn questions.

The test started soon after and I was nervous. I thought the test comprised of just 5 questions, so when I got to the 5th one I relaxed a bit. When the 6th question came, I got a bit thrown out of it. My initial thoughts made me think that I had got something wrong, and the test was asking more questions to give me a second chance. I cautiously went through the next 5. All in all, they asked me 5 right turn questions, 4 slow down questions, and 1 overtaking question. lol. I think I got it easy. But I was nervous of the result.

When the supervisor arrived, they checked my score, and I did pass. sweeeeeeet.......

I later found out that the HPT was actually a 10 question test. LOL.

I have to thank Chibi for that pdf copy of the Hazard Peception Test Book. Reading that over a period of two days gave me the understanding and confidence I needed.

And an also an hour before the test, I YouTubed up Hazard Perception Test, which came up with test videos from the British Hazard Perception Test. Those were actually fun to watch, and did help me build up my observation skills too.

Alright, I hope I'm allowed to drive by myself in future :D

Programming giants

Trust adobe to mess and complicate things with Flash. Why....???

For example, the function

------------------------------------------------------------------
getURL("http://www.someaddress.com");
------------------------------------------------------------------
----which you could simply just add to a button

..now being changed to something more complex which you have to the timeline instead:

------------------------------------------------------------------
movieClipName.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, callLink);
function callLink:void {
var url:String = "http://www.someaddress.com";
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url);
navigateToURL(request, '_self'); }
}
------------------------------------------------------------------
CHUUUUUNK!!!

What a way to throw K.I.S.S out the door.
Everyone probably knows this by now, but I just wanted my own little rant anyway.

*********************************
Anyhoos, here's little random video. Gives a hilarious insight to what the Autodesk fans out there are saying. Very funny if you understand the contexts.

Workcraft

I think my neighbours are running an illegal World of Warcraft Gold mining operation.

They are a bunch of average looking Korean boys. 3 of them to be exact. I sometimes see them heading down to the pool in a kiddish kind of manner. Every night I hear them shouting to each other, or laughing out loud, in the korean style laugh. I can't describe it, it's unique.

What else could they be doing so late at night?

---------------------

Anyways, speaking of World of Warcraft, check out this funny parody video called World of Workcraft

Ken and Jun, sitting in a game, F.I.G.H.T.I.N.G, first comes.......

I never knew Speed Racer and his lady friend could fight??

Great action!! And the video's quite engaging till the end.

Also, it's actually it's easy to mistake that for a pair of new generation styled Speed Racers. But it's actually Ken the Eagle and Jun the swan, from the Tatsunoko series called Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. Interested? Not really...

Anyways, I might as well do advertising for the game: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes.

Alrightio!

STUPID WMP >_<

OMFG @___@ Windows Media deleted ALL my music. FU#%*)(*^##%#)Q#%#*%#*

I am never using Windows Media ever again.

As real as it gets

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Pure hilarious!

Photoshop... CS5?

Made by Wandaaaa

Joe the Coin Collector voted for change

I found this FREAKING hilarious!!
And how nostalgic too ^__^

Anyways, YAY!!! OBAMA won. But of course, I'd knew he'd win anyway. If only I bet a huge some of money.. hmm.........

Obama pretty much had the media on his side. And from what we've all learnt, the media is all good and powerful. Plus, the Tina Fey thing obviously put Pahlin her in the bad spotlight. McCain didn't have enough energy to drive his speeches.

Obama also seemed fit enough to reform the economy, and stop the tide of hatred against America. Plus... who could hate a black man? YO?

American Election 08: The Online Game.

For those who have no life, i.e me, and want to play American Election 08 - the game, then head down to the http://edition.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/calculator/

Family fun game. Sure to keep you entertained seconds on end. YOU decide who will win O___O

And looking at the map, wow.... did you know California has 55 seats? Most seats out of any state. And predicted to all go to the Democrats.
Thinking in John McCain's shoes, or and other future Republican, they would hope global warming speeds up causing the water to rise and take out the outer states. lol. Since it seems a lot of dedicated Democrats live closer to the ocean edge.

Lessons to one's self

I've decided to follow the new series Ga-Rei Zero.

It's pretty interesting show with stunning animation and effects. It's also got a fairly decent story line, and the pace of the anime isn't slow (so far). Let's just hope it doesn't disappoint ;)

So I tried downloading it with Eng subs today. When it finished downloading, I opened the file (virus checked it before of course) , and it turned out to be in RAW. FAAAr out...... !!!
I looked for the same episode from another source, and after downloading, that turned out to be RAW too. I went back to check both sites, and they mentioned it had subbing.

A bit annoyed by that stage, I tried one more site, and after downloading, it once again was a RAW. I was about to delete it when something clicked in my mind.

I didn't check the video channels O___O I looked up the VLC program tabs, and there it was!
CLICK. And subtitles came on.

I did waste 400 or so mb. Woooooops. But lesson learnt.......... lesson learnt.

----------
Here's a random fact:

The English dictionary has 26 letters.
The Hawaiin Alphabet has only 12 letters. (5 vowels, a, e, i, o, u) (7 consonants h, k, l, m, n, p, w)
The KangXi Dictionary 49,030 different characters.

Rightio.

Unblockedness

OMG @__@ My left ear just unblocked.
WooooOOOOOoooooOOOOOOooooooo~

Now I can hear everything!!!

Oye oye, who's scratching their balls?

Free Laughs

Some say there's no free Lunch.

For P.Chan, there is a free dinner.
This is from the time he had to wait 45 minutes for his food. The people apologised for the wait, and refunded his money. We rarely see him this happy, except when it's banana time.

Ah, and Eriz...... aren't you glad I'm there to document the funny times ^_^ Keep those Extra Chews coming, and I'll keep my finger trigger happy ^__^

Dog's world

I wait for the day when we can throw our hands up and say
"OMG! I love Sydney public transport. It's so reliable."

In the meantime... here's a picture of a North Sydney city rail guard changing the display for train scheduled times. On screen were several dramatic waiting times, and some cancellations. This was due to a signal failure on at Milsons Point. The Tangara in the background was the train I was on, and was unexpectedly told to terminate at the platform. The two people facing away from us are in utter disappoinment. And the blurry pink shirted person was the terribly cranky old lady who kept screaming at the guards and giving them glares.

---
Coming back to a previous post, remember how I was trying to work out the formula to that card stacking question.
Here's the answer I got. Don't think it can be simplified down further.

Alright. Everyone enjoy their day tomorrow. After all, some say, it's just a dog's world.

Feeling better

So what feels better?

Having an ear blocked for several days, trying to unblock it with no avail. Then suddenly having it unblock itself.

Or..

Having the feeling that you lost something precious somewhere, and you can't find it anywhere. Then it suddenly turns up.

For me, right now, it would be the ear unblocking, because my left ear is blocked.

*gaaarrrrr....*

KOOO-EEEEE

Today's ZOO D.C. meeting took off with a big splash!!

Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Homer-phobic? *doh!!!!

Am I homophobic?

I don't think so.

I don't mind gay people. They are interesting. Funny. Different. And very accomplished.

But...as long as they don't affect me, I'm fine with them :)
As long as my children aren't gay, I'm totally fine with them.
As long as my friends I care for don't become gay, I'm totally fine with them.

In fact, sometimes we do gay things because it's funny. Yes it's funny, but that's because we cringe at gay jokes. We have an understanding that gayness is somewhat wrong.

But if we think it's wrong, are we then scared of it?

Does that mean it is homophobia?

For the moment, my answer is no, I'm not homophobic.

A trip down Mathematical lane

My friend and I were bored when we found this Signpost 8 Textbook. We opened a page, and the question was:

A level 1 card tower takes 2 cards to make
/\

A level 2 card tower takes 7 cards to make
  /_\
/ \/ \

A level 3 card tower takes 15 cards to make
     /_\
  /_\/_\
/ \ / \ / \
How many cards does a 10 tower card require to make?

-------------------------------

After trying to squeeze out every single drop of our high school maths knowledge, we eventually worked it out. Eventually, meaning like 20 minutes later. But we didn't actually work it out. We just counted it. Booo.....

We put the book away, and said we wouldn't do anymore.

But, somehow, I was really disappointed at myself. I couldn't bare the fact that I couldn't work it out. We worked out 10 because we counted, but what if the question asked for a level 100, or 10,000? Maybe it was my anal attitude, but I then decided that I HAD to work out the formula. My friend said it wasn't worth it. He was right.

But I won, and we spent our time trying to work it out.

..... eventually and happily, and an hour later, I finally worked it out. It's a bit hard to describe how it was done. I pretty much broke the puzzle up into two sections.
I wrote down out the first 4 required cards for the one's that weren't horizontal (being 2, 6, 12, 20), and through trial and error, working out the formula.
Then I wrote down the pattern for the cards that were horizontal (0, 1, 3, 6), and did the same.

Combining those two formulas gave me the overall formula.

Of course, this process would have taken 10 seconds by someone who remembers the formulas.

But still, I think, that has to be the greatest achievement for me last week.

Proud to be asian! (or not, lol)

Home stories

Now and again, spoons seem to go missing.

Who's stealing my spoons?

I have my eye on you......

I'm not an OTAKU

Last night I had a seriously weird dream.

Please read on if you dare:

I was attending a special cosplay convention with the cosplay group. Strangely enough, it was held at Epping Boys High School. There were heaps of people lining up along Epping Rd, eager to enter the place. But only certain invitees were allowed in. We entered the school hall, and the doors closed. We shuffled our way to some grab some good seats up the back, and an announcement came up.

The person announced that all invitees had shown up, but a headcount determined that we had some extra people. We all looked around and was astounded. The announcer requested that we determine who we were by coming on stage, and making poses of characters that we've cosplayed before.

(..... yeah, i know, wierd)

So then, when it finally got to my turn, I did the Shino bug pose, Luffy jump, Shikamaru think pose, Pazu run, and then swung an imaginary sword stylishly like Yamamoto. The crowd went wild. Haha.....

Then I woke up.

(yeah......... okay. Strange, i know i know)

MoonCake Madness

AAAARRGGHHH........ MOOOOON CAKEEEEE!!!!

Yesterday I had moon cake for Breakfast, lunch and sorta-dinner.

Because I have a tendency to keep food in my mouth, the first mooncake of the day took me an hour and 10 mins to finish. You can munch and munch and munch and munch.

You know.... after a while, it kinda tastes like chinese medicine.

Then moon cake again for lunch.
(I only had small pieces)

Then moon cake again for sorta-dinner.
Sorta-dinner means not during dinner, but after, with aunties and uncles offering you more and more moon cake, and your in-ability to say no to them.

Oh wait. Then they ask us to bring more moon cake pieces home. And there's already lots of moon cake at home. I know what I'll be having for the next days!!

Erh........ Anybody willing to come heeeeeelp?

But other than that, mooncake day was good. The rain probably spoiled a couple of activities around the area. But luckily the sky turned red-ish orange afterward. Made everything feel mystical/special.......Woooooooo.................

Photoshopness!

Okay. This is wear boredom leads you:

This is Eriz charging up.

This is some wierdo trying to be Luffyish.

This is one point lighting. Trying to be serious.

Haha... okay. Enough randomness!

And this is to my Fluffy. I know how much you like tomatoes, so tada!!

SELFISH INCONSIDERATE DAD!!!!!!!!!

He went on my computer and decide to merge two hard drives together. Lost so many of my files, and now some of my programs aren't working.

Don't let your dad touch/browse through your computer unless supervised.

Stupid Father's Day.... pfft

I want my Avatar!

Watching: Avatar - The Last Airbender

Progress: Book 1 Chapter 16.

Status: Full of AWESOME!!

Awesome!

They should also make a short prequel series or something, just to quench the first of the fans. Otherwise, we'll have to wait for the Avatar Movie, coming soon, in 2010.

Rise of Darkrai

OMGWTFHOLYAWESOMEFREEKINGMARVEOLOUSWOAH!!!!!!

I just finished watching Pokemon - Rise of Darkrai, and it's the 2nd best pokemon Movie!!! FAR OUT......

Why? It showed all three starter pokemon in their 3rd evolutions, especially Empoleon!! *dribble* It has the two Titans, Palkia and Dialga, battling one another in epic battle. Darkrai was just freaking awesome!! And!! They say, Palkia actually ran away from Dialga. Hahahahaha, take that Eriz!!
Oh yeah, and they also had Drifloons and Drifblims. (Drifloon being the pokemon that I spent 3 hours purely looking for on Friday, lolz....)

Alright! I'm going go catch me some Pokemon!!

Nice place of eatingness

Went to the Dan Wan Li Restaurant in Eastwood. Rather nice food!! Beautiful environment!!! (but only if you're in the Medium Room)

Here's the medium room:

The ceiling
Wall 1
Wall 2 & 4 (in the reflection)
Wall 3

AND HERE'S THE DELICIOUS ENTREE & FOOD!!

and..

Supposedly you stuff things into these buns.
( I tried chocolate. MMmmm... yum yum )

Ah..... you all hungry???

At the moment I sound like I'm selling the place. Advertising freely for them. Though, if the owners were to come across this page, I sure wouldn't mind taking some advertising money from them :)

But because I'm not a free service anymore, here are the cons :)

- The room only holds a recommended 12 people.

- The staff are a bit rude at times.

- Your teapot won't get filled frequently.

- They switch the lights off around you till you leave.

- Cost $500. (Up to you to decide if it's cheap or not) Thanks Charlie !!!

- And you know those huge flower bouquets Chinese people put in front of the store to tell everyone it's new? Well, that's what they do most Saturdays. LOL. But I guess marketing is marketing. There is no ethical boundry.

That'd be all!

Animania 08 - AWSEOMENESS REBORN

2ND PLACE!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOO YEAH!!!

That is, 2nd place for best skit, Animania Saturday, 08^_^
Not bad for not expecting to win. I'm very relieved we all pulled it off, and came out with something to make the hard work all worth while.

We cosplayed the 7 Vongola Guardians from Katekyo Hitman Reborn. I was Takeshi Yamamoto.
(Picture stolen from Ravient)

Our performance can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jg0AkBAU4hE
Everyone performed magnificently. Happiness all around.
Even when Ryohei lost his wig, he acted very professionally. He picked up the wig, realized it was hopeless, chucked it away, and continued on with the performance. ^_^

The only thing that I'm cringing is at my shitty performance. I wasn't dynamic enough. And my Gokudera shove looked super gay because we weren't close enough. Acks! There's other stuff too, but hey, what a heck !!

Oh, and I didn't bring my camera on Saturday, so here are some pics from my phone.

Archer from Fate/Stay Night. Pretty edgy. (This is actually a girl cosplaying)

This Ishida cosplay was pretty interesting because his bow is different. Not as good as the one from Supernova Saturday 08 though.

I also don't know who this is, but it's pretty wacky.

Then I pretty much squealed when I saw the Black Ranger cosplay. LOL!! Maybe it was because a few days before, when I watched the new Power Rangers episodes. They're now calling it Power Rangers: Jungle Fury. And with the help of some plot, there were 9 power rangers in this particular battle. Watch it here (skip to 1:45)

On that segway, check out how "cool" the monsters are now *cough cough* The one here is doing the worm (skip to 1:55).

ANYWAYS!!! Back to Animania :)

This is the guy who did Nero - Devil May Cry 4 from SMASH 08. Don't know his character this time.

And this pic is just so great :) One for the guys ^____^
(Though, later on I found out the one of the right weren't her real size. haha...)

Another cute one. Don't know who they are once again.

Roxus - Final form.
Looooved her weapons and hair. Though, they should have confiscated her hair. To sharp!! They could have poked my eye out or something @___@

Here's the team that beat us to first place. They deserve every single bit. Like seriously, who can say no to such an awesome dragon ~!!!!!!! And that fur @_@... imagine sewing it together.

And here's the awesome soldiers from Dynasty Warriors. Never played the game, but I knew them at a moment's glance. Kudos to Dynasty Warriors marketing team :)

So out of all the cosplays, my favourite would have to be the Team Fortress 2 team. Ah... that game brings back the memories :) .....I didn't get a picture of them sadly, so here's Ravient's pic:
Aren't they so awesome @________@
They even had a red team member somewhere.

All and all, the day was pretty special.

Now for the byatching.

Because TownHall renovations were under way, Animania had moved to Australian Technology Park (ATP). I've been there once, and knew it wasn't suitable for this kind of thing. The place is to tattery. In summary, the place looks like an underground joint filled with random blue walls, and the occasional white furniture. I was almost half waiting for cops to suddenly burst in and start arresting people
(which I must mention, did kind of happen. Not because the place was so crap, though they probably should have arrested the guy in charge of ATP heating anyways, but because two boys were caught doing graffiti on the walls)
(as the juveniles were detained till the police came, they actually said our performance was great!! Haha... and I looked like Yamamoto. LOL. They were just being nice)

And must I say? The lighting was shitty (as usual anyways). But worst of all, it was cold >__<. It really killed me to see people shivering, especially my friends. Stupid Animania staff. There were even heat grids in some areas, but they didn't turn them on. Okay, enough byatching. I enjoyed Animania. It had it's nice moments. I just hope Animania takes in all the feedback they'll get in the next few days. BUT WOOOOOOOTTT!!! 2nd PLACE !!!!!! ( which was like a first place for us :D ) For better recounts of our day, see Ravient's and SilverHarmony's post ^^

Ah.... time to relax :)

Hot Pot Wait

Had hot pot last night. Although I love eating the food that comes out (especially with chilli soy sauce *yum yum*) , I really don't like the wait. It's good chatting and all, passing time while you wait for your food to boil... but seriously? Is it worth the wait? Does the stomach have to wait?

It's not my first time having it, but last night, I was thinking...... when anyone has hot pot, there should be a golden rule, where there has to be at least one pot per 4 persons. Keeps everyone happy :)

Trade Federation China

One thing about the Beijing Opening Ceremony that made me think in a "geeky" way.

Was it just me, or did the world globe rising out of the ground, remind you of a Trade Federation Core Ship from Star Wars:Attack of the clones?

Word Globe

Trade Federation Core Ship
